Biography of John Pritchett

John Pritchett is a senior retail executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across grocery and general merchandise retail. He currently serves as Senior Director of Retail and Information Technology with the Powell Group of Companies, where he is a member of the senior leadership team and Board of Directors. He is also General Manager of Powell’s Supermarkets, leads retail strategy for Atlantic Grocery Distributors and oversees enterprise technology across the organization’s retail, wholesale and distribution businesses. Throughout his career, John has built high-performing teams, led large-scale operations and delivered sustained improvements in sales, profitability and customer experience. His previous leadership roles include positions with Loblaw Companies Limited, Target Canada and Hudson’s Bay Company, where his responsibilities ranged from individual store management to national and regional oversight of retail portfolios approaching $1 billion in annual sales. John also serves on the boards of the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers and the Office of the Grocery Sector Code of Conduct. Through these appointments, he contributes an independent-retail and Atlantic Canadian perspective to national industry governance, advocacy and initiatives promoting fairness and transparency throughout Canada’s grocery supply chain. John is married to Michelle, and together they have two children, Maisy and Josiah. The family shares a love of travelling and is actively involved in their church community. John is deeply proud of Michelle, Maisy and Josiah and considers his family his greatest source of joy and accomplishment.
