Stong’s Markets Ltd. is a leading independent grocer in the Metro Vancouver, Canada area. With 3 locations, and a successful online home delivery business, the Stong’s brand has become a destination for customers looking for unique, locally produced items as well as many national brands. With 400 employees that live and work in the community, Stong’s has become known as THE local Grocer. Throughout his career, Brian has shown a passion for delivering exceptional results, while building the strength of his team around him. He joined Stong’s in 2017 after a 30-year career with Safeway, where he held several leadership positions, constantly taking on increasing levels of responsibility. With a change in ownership at Stong’s, the opportunity to take over running the business as an independent operator held a strong attraction. Brian currently sits on the Executive of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers.
