Biography of Brian Wong

Brian Wong is the Co-founder and General Partner at Ascii Ventures, an early stage venture fund focused on investing in “Boringtech” companies, typically industrial AI companies that help power the North American economy. Ascii uses a unique bifurcated approach by doing both early stage and late stage pre IPO boringtech companies to align with the barbell of M&A timelines. He was formerly co-founder at Kiip, a company credited with the creation of rewards-based advertising. The company was backed by over $40mm in capital from Verizon Ventures, American Express Ventures, True Ventures, and others. Kiip was acquired by Ninthdecimal/InMarket. Brian received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia at age 18, after skipping four K-12 grades. He was a recipient of the Forbes’ “30 under 30”, three years in a row. Brian launched his first book when he was 25, called “The Cheat Code”, published by Penguin/Crown.
